At United Conveyor Corporation, the safety and well-being of our employees and customers is always our top priority. We recognize the important role we play in providing equipment and services to your company while delivering on our customer commitments regarding quality and schedule during this critical time. As the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases continues to escalate globally, we are taking additional preventive measures to stop the potential transmission of the virus within our locations.
COVID-19 has the potential to drive significant business and operational impact on organizations. We understand that events like this can cause feelings of uncertainty and anxiety. UCC has implemented COVID-19 Taskforce to provide direction on how we can further improve our programs and actions as more information becomes available. We are closely monitoring developments and reports from local, national and international health agencies, and any potential adverse impact on supply chain continuity within our industry. Please be assured we are doing everything within our power to support your operations, while ensuring the health and well-being of our employees.
To ensure we can safely supply your company with equipment and services, we have taken the following measures:
We are asking employees to follow suggested tips to ensure the safety of our staff:
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick;
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth;
• Stay home when you feel sick;
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash;
• Clean / disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces;
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
To protect the health and well-being of our employees and further support our Customers under the given circumstances, we have equipped and enabled all eligible UCC employees to perform their respective duties remotely, with the necessary tools and network access to conduct business as usual.
We have placed a temporary ban on all non-essential visitors to our Waukegan and Pleasant Prairie locations. We are continually monitoring the situation and will revise this policy in accordance with CDC and local Health Department recommendations.
We have cancelled all International and all non-essential domestic business travel indefinitely. We are committed to providing you the same level of customer support remotely. Exceptions to our travel restrictions may be made for customer emergencies and essential customer on-site visits. As we continue to monitor the situation, we will revise as necessary.
We utilize a robust global supply chain network that includes a variety of sources, including our own assembly/fabrication/warehouse facility, along with numerous other suppliers and fabricators to manufacture and supply our products. We have implemented similar measures as noted above at our facility, as well as confirmed similar provisions from the balance of our suppliers.

UCC Plant Operations
Does UCC have a Response Plan if circumstances deteriorate and numerous individuals are not able to report to work?
We have a four-step response plan which is based on CDC and local Health Department recommendations. The plan consists of:
1) Precautions already implemented to keep employees well and reduce/ eliminate infection;
2) Next level steps based around mandated closures or labor shortages due to absence;
3) Series of contingency plans to execute work during any labor shortages;
4) Recovery methods from any forced shut-downs or work hour reductions.
Due to the increased global threat of Coronavirus, do you have any upstream or downstream supplier labor impacts or concerns? (i.e., labor or material shortages due to shutdowns, quarantines, subcontractor concerns, overseas supply, etc.)?
As of 16 March 2020, there have been no disruptions to our supply chain operations. The UCC supply chain team regularly monitors global and economic conditions, and is assessing scenarios for various outcomes, including labor implications. We do have mechanisms in place to manage most, if not all, types of supply chain disruption. We continue to work closely with our sub-suppliers to refine and enhance our contingency plans to minimize any potential risk of supply chain disruption.
Inventory and Order Fulfillment
Do you have reserved inventory of finished goods on hand?
The UCC Pleasant Prairie facility is adequately stocked with a mixture of finished goods and components to service anticipated customer needs for at least the next 2 – 3 months for most common stock and assembled items. We are advising all customers to proactively manage on-site inventories and order any parts needed for the immediate future.
Do you anticipate any issues with inbound or outbound transportation?
As of 16 March 2020, there have been no disruptions to our supply chain operations. Presently, our logistics providers are operating as usual. We continue to work closely with our logistics providers to refine and enhance our contingency plans to minimize any potential risk of transportation disruptions.
